this n that

dan's dad purchased a few four wheelers for the kids to ride. when i say kids i'm referring to the grand kids, although it is apparent that the adult kids like to ride them as well. logan had a pretty good time riding with his dad.

ready, set, go!

easter

logan was pretty excited about his easter basket. he got a stuffed bunny (which he had already played with in the store), some magic markers and paper, and some candy. he thought it was the best!

look what i got!

we had a small egg hunt in our backyard for logan. he would pick up the eggs when he saw them...

however, crawling was the preferred method for hunting eggs!

on a side note, i was vacuuming the house the other day, and who knows how long it had been...i am pretty good about vacuuming and mopping the downstairs but i hate lugging the vacuum upstairs, so often times it doesn't get done. anyway, as i was vacuuming the carpet i was thinking about how i like when the vacuum leaves the fresh vacuum lines in the carpet. then i had the stellar idea that someone should invent carpet that already had that pattern in it so it always looked like you had just vacuumed!

since it was dan's LAST spring break, we decided to go all out and take logan to the zoo for the first time! logan loved looking at all the animals, especially the monkeys. we ate our picnic lunch on the fake grass and basked in the sun. logan did great and loved every minute of it.!

so dan was setting up the camera on this brick wall to take a picture with the timer. although it would have been a good picture, the background was a lame sign with a listing of all the upcoming zoo events. then this nice lady walked by and offered to take our picture in front of the peacock.

this isn't a very good picture, but logan is playing in the turtle shell. if you look closely you can see dan's hand on logan's head trying to get him to go in. logan didn't like that very much.
logan had fun crawling around on the fake grass. it was actually nice because he didn't get all dirty and muddy.

dan and logan in a bird's eggshell. logan didn't want to sit in it by himself.

let me in there! the polar bear was eating lunch when we saw him. he had a big piece of meat he was gnawing at!

logan was able to get pretty close to the giraffes while they were eating.

the zoo is a lot of work!

i don't want to grow up...

dan had his LAST spring break this week...and we had big plans! you know...rocky point, cancun, europe...when did spring break turn into writing papers, fixing the car, cleaning the house, and doing yard work? i don't want to grow up...

monkey business

logan had a monkey party for his first birthday. he has a little stuffed monkey that he takes pretty much everywhere and he loves to look at monkeys...which explains the monkey party. we had it at the park by our house and all of our family and friends came to celebrate. we had yummy barbecue food, thanks dan for cooking it, and yummy monkey cake. i think that logan enjoyed all of his food and presents! thanks everyone for coming to celebrate logan's birthday with us. we are so blessed to have family and friends who love logan and we are so grateful to be his parents and to watch him grow!

logan loved it when everyone sang happy birthday to him.
