swim lessons

both the kids did swim lessons this summer. logan was great and jumped right in. the swim lessons really boosted his confidence and he is pretty much swimming by himself now. i put allison in the class above mom and tot and although she loves the water she is not so fond of strangers. she was the youngest in her class so the activities were geared toward the older kids...there were kids logan's age in her class. i didn't think the teacher made much of an effort to include her and make her feel comfortable but when she was willing to participate she had fun.
the last day they give the kids popsicles. i thought this was a cute picture of the kids. allison is always willing to let others taste her food.

on the last day they also let the kids go down the slide. logan had no problem going down and loved it. allison had to go with the teacher and i think she liked it because she went down several times.

logan's prayer

dan has been working some evenings lately so he has not been home when i put the kids to bed. at bedtime tonight logan said the family prayer and here is a glimpse of the world through his eyes..."thank you that daddy can work and make some more money so mommy can go buy more stuff..." i'm glad this kid has got it figured out!

logan graduates preschool

logan "graduated" from his first year of preschool. he has loved preschool and takes it very seriously. he has learned and grown so much this year. i was nervous sending logan to preschool and afraid that i hadn't researched them enough. but we has had a great year and we are very pleased with our choice.

we LOVE miss alecia. she is a great teacher and i loved that she keeps up with logan's enthusiasm for life. we are sad that logan won't have her next year but we are looking forward to new experiences. logan went to preschool two days a week this year and next year he will go three.

allison turns two

allison turned two on may 7th. we had a minnie mouse party for her and she loved it. she was showered with gifts and loved getting some girls things. she got barbies, pretend hair dryer and accessories, a rocking horse, swimsuit and and play food. thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us.

we are so grateful to have allison in our family.she is always on and is having her own little party all the time. she is very active and becoming quite the girly girl. at the same time she loves to keep up with her brother and doesn't mind getting dirty. she is so compassionate and is always willing to kiss your owies. we are so blessed to have her in our family!

father-son-campout

dan and logan went on the father-son campout this past weekend. logan had a blast and spent the majority of the time hunting for bugs.

logan has always been very social but he has recently developed this little entourage of boys in the ward that he definitely looks up too and who love spending time with him. so he acquired his "team" to look for bugs, build forts, and explore the wilderness.

papa was able to join them and surprised logan with a bug flashlight. he was able to catch two scorpions and a bunch of other creepy bugs. i was SO sad to learn that they had died in the heat of the car when they stopped for mickeydonalds on the way home...so sad.

apparently there is not any proof that dan was there other than the fact that someone had to take the pictures. but i think they had fun and logan is already asking when he can go again!

easter

we some friends over the friday before easter for dinner and some fun easter activities. my friend camille brought dessert- we made fun racing rabbit cars out of chocolate and candy-yum...

then we dyed easter eggs...

then we opened easter presents...

we had a hoppin' good time!

easter week we read the story of what Jesus did the week of easter leading up to his resurrection. there was a great little excerpt in the friend magazine that highlighted what Christ did each day. we had our egg hunt- which apparently we didn't take any pictures of-on saturday morning and the kids also opened their easter baskets. it was nice to do easter on saturday so that on sunday we could remember why we celebrate easter (that and we have church at 8:30 am).
