logan is walking
so logan started walking like two weeks ago (i know, i'm a little slow on the announcement). he has really taken off and is doing really well. he can also bend down to pick up an object and not lose his balance. i have some video footage of his first steps but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to post it on my blog...it just won't work (maybe i'll keep trying).
dumb vandals
dan was at school yesterday, and as he put it, his car was vandalized. it was his last day of class, so logi and i went down to his school and "vandalized" his car. we painted the windows and decorated it with balloons and streamers. i think we accomplished our goal by thoroughly embarrassing him. plus, i think we made him feel super proud, which he should be!

plumber's crack
ok, maybe not so much. however, i did make use of my plumbing skills on the shower knob today. this morning i went to take a shower and there was something a little off with the knob. it was kind of loose. but i managed to get the water tuned on (with a little elbow grease) and soon discovered that i couldn't get the water to turn off! the water wasn't on all the way to be shower worthy plus it was luke cold, so i wasn't about to get in. i tried to force the knob to turn it off, but no such luck. so i called dan at work but he didn't answer (i think he was in a meeting). at this point i considered letting the water run and getting in the other shower, but that made me feel a little wasteful. so i called dan's dad and he gave me some advice on how to turn the water off. i had to pop off the shiny tab that is in front of the screw. then unscrew the knob, take it off, and then turn the water off with pliers. after i took a shower in the other bathroom, logan and i headed out to the local hardware store, aka lowe's. i pick out what i think i need and then wait forever for some not so helpful customer service. the plumbing expert didn't tell me anything that i didn't already know and couldn't answer the questions about stuff i didn't know. needless to say, we made our $15.99 purchase and headed home. after some crafty knob application (i only had to do it twice), we now have a fully functioning shower! i'm glad that i now have some plumbing experience under my belt!

in good company
dan's friend joe from his mission is moving to tucson this summer and he came with his wife elizabeth and little son ezra to check it out. they stayed with us and let me just say that logan was obsessed with them. he especially liked joe and would not leave him alone. he also liked to play with ezra. we told them all about the best places to live in tucson (and let them crash at our house) and in turn they treated us to a yummy authentic mexican dinner. sounds like a fair trade to me! we were glad to have them and are excited for them to be moving here!

swim lessons
i signed logan up for swim lessons at the ymca. if you can even call them that. it is a bunch of moms, mix with a few dads, bouncing and singing their way through the water while trying to prevent their little one from freaking out. fortunately logan loves the water so i knew he would do awesome. he loves splashing and playing in the water and doesn't even mind it when he gets dunk. the only downside is that the poor little guy is shivering by the time we are done. this a picture of the first day of swim lessons!
