houston

in the beginning of march we took a family trip to houston, tx and visited dan's great aunt gail. we had a great time exploring houston and galveston and then we were able to go the houston rodeo thanks to aunt gail!
for the first couple of days we went down to galveston and stayed for two nights. while we were there we went to the beach but the weather was cold so we didn't go in the water. the next day we went to the nasa space center and played with the kids there. then we went back to hotel and went swimming- in the rain! our last day in galveston we went on the bolivar ferry which logan loved. he thought it was great that we took our car on a boat.
when we were back in houston we went to the rodeo for two nights and saw alan jackson and kenny chesney perform. the third night we took the kids to the rodeo but didn't stay for the concert. during the day we went to the midway games and logan had fun in the petting zoo and riding the rides. he also went mutton bustin' and did great. he was so excited to ride the sheep but when he fell of it stepped on his leg. for the rest of the day if you asked him if he rode a sheep he would say, "yeah mama, that sheep hurted me." but by the next day he was so proud that he rode a sheep and said that he wanted to do it again!
we also went to the downtown aquarium. logan loved looking at the tiger, petting the sting rays and riding the train to look at the sharks. gail gave us a great tour of houston and took us to the water wall and hermann park.
we had such a great time and can't wait to go back someday!

rodeo

since the rodeo was coming up, my sister-in-law and i decided to make skirts for the girls. we had fun making them and i think they turned out so cute. we also got little vests and hats for the boys. logan and allison wore them to the rodeo parade in tucson and also to the rodeo in houston (more to come on tx).

sadly, i didn't get any official pictures of allison on the day of the parade...but luckily it was not a big deal because the day before we went to the studio and got pics of kids in all their rodeo gear. they turned out pretty cute considering the kids didn't really want to be there...

9 months

here are allison's 9 month pictures. it was hard to get her to sit still for the pictures but we were able to get some great shots! she is growing so fast! she weighs in at 17.5 lbs.
she is army crawling all over the place (she has been doing this for a while now) and is starting to crawl on all fours. she loves to pull herself up onto things and is starting to entertain herself more (instead of mom entertaining her)! she also has two bottom teeth!

bye-bye helmet

allison is finally done with her helmet and did great with it. she wore it for 3 months and is now within normal range for all her measurements. she now has a "textbook" head shape. i will miss the way it framed her face and made her cheeks look chubby...but i won't miss it being in the way and having to clean it out every night.

polar express

the week before christmas we went to flagstaff to ride the polar express. fun was had by all (even though our train was late). a big thank you goes to grandma and papa for giving us their tickets and for watching allison while we went on the train! we were also able to go play in the snow the next day and visit the temple lights on the way home!
