in good company
dan's friend joe from his mission is moving to tucson this summer and he came with his wife elizabeth and little son ezra to check it out. they stayed with us and let me just say that logan was obsessed with them. he especially liked joe and would not leave him alone. he also liked to play with ezra. we told them all about the best places to live in tucson (and let them crash at our house) and in turn they treated us to a yummy authentic mexican dinner. sounds like a fair trade to me! we were glad to have them and are excited for them to be moving here!

swim lessons
i signed logan up for swim lessons at the ymca. if you can even call them that. it is a bunch of moms, mix with a few dads, bouncing and singing their way through the water while trying to prevent their little one from freaking out. fortunately logan loves the water so i knew he would do awesome. he loves splashing and playing in the water and doesn't even mind it when he gets dunk. the only downside is that the poor little guy is shivering by the time we are done. this a picture of the first day of swim lessons!
wedding crashers
one of dan's good friends from high school got married on the 12th. we had a fun time getting together with our friends and partaking of our non-alcoholic drinks. however, dan didn't let that slow him down. there were these two older gentlemen who took this group picture of us at the beginning of the reception. by the time dinner was over the dancing had begun and these same two guys were utterly wasted. they were out on the dance floor going crazy. dan decided to join them and they welcomed him into their dance circle. the pictures didn't turn out very good, but you can still see all the crazy dancing!

i think dan is cool
this post is pretty much all about dan and how cool i think he is...
first off, i want to say congratualtions to dan for passing his comps! i know that he has worked really hard this semester and has been super busy. this is a major relief (for all of us) and now he can officially graduate!
second, i want announce that dan accepted a full-time position at cottonwood. this means no more weekends! he starts may 19 and will be working in the family program, which is just what he wanted to do! i pretty much knew all along that he was good enough to get a job there and we are super proud of him! (i do have to give myself a little credit here because i told dan he should call cottonwood and apply for an internship there, although he got the internship and the job all on his own!)
third, dan has also had some other job offers, 2 to be exact. he endured a drawn out interview process with pima prevention partnership and was offered a position as a program evaluator. unfortunately for them, this isn't quite what he wants to do, so he had to turn them down. he also interviewed at lds family services and was basically offered a part-time position as a therapist. this is something that he would really love to do, so we will see if he can work something out down the road.
congratulations dan on all of your hard work and great opportunities!

swimming
and the award goes to...
that's right, i won the worst mom of the year award. let me tell you why i deserve this award. logan and i took a little trip to the mall yesterday to do some shopping and while we there we played in the little play yard they have. he had fun going down the slide and crawling through the tunnels. then i decided that i would take him on a ride on the mechanical toys. so i put him on the train and he was so cute. he was smiling and i was taking some pictures of him and next thing i know he falls out and smacks his head on another ride. i was so close to grabbing him! in my head it seems like he fell 3 or 4 feet and hit his head so hard. in reality it was probably only about 1 1/2 feet, but he did hit is head hard. i was so embarrassed and was sure that everyone saw and heard what happened. luckily i think the only people who saw were these two ladies who were too old to realize what was going on. he didn't cry for that long and so far there is not a bruise, but i feel like the worst mom ever!

i was so scared to look at the pictures because i thought for sure i got a picture of him falling off the ride. luckily there is no physical documentation of this sad event! but the pictures i did get sure turned out pretty cute.
